Hi,
Just thought to got these elusive Arp's loops with tonnes of exposure but not much of them seen here. I console myself that my FOV is too small to get them;)

Thanks for looking!

Mark, that's a great image. Lot's of color and detail.
Please take the next comment with a grain of salt as I am definitely not trying to minimize all of the hard work and effort you put into this spectacular image.
I think the stars are a bit "fat". It is particularly noticeable when viewing the smaller version, not the full resolution. With the diffraction spikes, it makes the larger stars look a little "square". On the full resolution version, it seems less noticeable.
I am wondering if perhaps you could mask the stars and then reintroduce them into the image as smaller stars without using image processing to reduce their size which may cause artificats to appear. The stars seem a bit bloated to me which I suppose could be due to the long exposure times, in which case only image processing can reduce them. Am I right on that?
Anyway, I know little about image processing so I am probably the last person you need advice from...lol.
Great job sir!

Dave,
You are right! Fully agree. I feel the best way out are your stars - I'm so envious of your data;) I 'll try to improve.

That's a very nice M81! You put a lot of time into it, so maybe you need darker skies to get Arp's loop to show up better.

Your data is fine and your image is fantastic. I just gave my initial impression of how the stars appeared in the small image.
I think if you can figure out how to get the color into the stars rather than in a halo around the star, the stars would look cleaner.
Anyway, my comment was definitely not meant to berate you or your hard work and tremendous effort. After reading it again, it comes across that way.
Instead, it was meant as a freindly opinion that I hoped would make your already fabulous image even better.
I dont' like typing my comments. It's hard to convey constructive criticism without coming across like a jerk.
Please accept my apology.
Your friend,
Dave

Great details, I specially like the background, noise free and lots of faint stuff visible. I think hard stretching should reveal the elusive loop.
