Hello,
after 3 weeks of fog or bad seeing conditions it was clear last night. Seeing seemed to be only fair, judged by the live image on the screen.
Might be interesting to compare them with an image made 3 weeks ago (2012/11/25):
Thanks for watching. Regards Torsten

Beautiful! Sometimes the result surprises us, its not always what the live view suggests. Well done!

Hi Torsten,
That is a super fine image of Jupiter and the GRS area It matches very well with my visual observations in the same timeframe through my 4" f/8 fluorite. I had superior seeing for hours on end.
It was a very cold and humid night, so opted for the 4" APO instead of the 16" dob to avoid longer cooling. I was rewarded with the best views of Jupiter I had in my lifetime with a 4". 170x binoviewing was continously sharp, contrasty and stable. The level of detail I saw was very similar to your picture, except for the very smallest details. Never thought that would be possible in such a small telescope. My sketching however is no match for your superb imaging. Your images are some of the finest I have seen!

As a visual observer, I always like to see processing that doesn't over-saturate the colors and you seem to consistently keep the color saturation at a really great level. Very natural appearance.
Thanks for putting this up.

Exceptional, great processing! Can't get much better than this with a 11 inch instrument, if at all! Do you use wavelets by the way?

Hi Rik,
thanks for your reply!

Recently, I used registax6 noise trap method very regularly. For this set I switched to the wavelets in fitswork, which also do a good job!
Best regards Torsten
