I've seen a nice camera from D-Link that seems reasonably priced. I haven't tried it myself yet, but looks good on the specs sheet.

I use This camera from Harbor Freight.
It also doubles as a security camera and records to my computer in the house with motion detection software.

I have Foscam's in my obs. Work great with iSpy (free download) and like everything else, there are a bunch of apps that run them as well. The older version is $63 on Amazon.

One of the cameras that monitors my obs is mounted on the mount itself so it sees where the scope(s) are pointing. Here is it looking at my house thru the dome's slit. There is a camera mounted below the satellite dish looking down on the obs. The camera has an IR light on it. If you use IR cameras inside the obs I suggest that you be get one that allows you to turn the IR off. You can see how bright the IR can be.

Al, that's a very reasonably priced all-weather camera you were able to get from Harbor Freight. Does the thing come with its own software to record movements, or did you have to buy that separately? If the software was included, is it Windows XP compatible? Mike

Based on your post I picked up one of these cameras. Like the fact it has pan, tilt and zoom as well as control of the IR lights. The pic is looking over the Obs as Jupiter and the Moon rise.
Are you aware of any OUTDOOR versions that run on 12V? The higher voltage would be easier to set up with a Solar Panel and small (7AH) battery.

No it did not come with any software that I remember, but it has been a couple years since I bought the cameras.
What I use is "UFO Capture" that is a free download that I have running in the background on my Win 7 laptop.
But I have run it on my older XP desktop so I know it works on that OS.
