Folks,
Lately I've been having some issues with Firecapture. It has worked fine for over a year but now this problem has come up. I start capturing, and then "frames saved" gets way behind "frames captured". I have to go through this process 3 or 4 times (alternating from record to stop) and then eventually "frames saved" is able to keep up while recording. This is with Windows XP. I've tried closing every unnecessary process and even turning off virus checking but the behaviour is the same. It didn't do this before. I haven't installed any new programs in ages except for XP updates. Anybody else ever see this?

I turn off my antivirus program, too. Is yours?

Hi Rolf! I recall with fondness tracking your comets in the Ektachrome era!
You can experiment with thread priorities, boost and buffers (currently I have Disk buffer off and it seems ok). But one thing that helped me was to set the refresh rate to 1000ms under the performance panel. Maybe it was just my platform, but 1 second updates was good enough and seemed to help.

Thanks Glenn! I'll try and play with some of those settings. I'm most disturbed though that I didn't have the problem previously.

Rolf, You could send me your FireCapture.ini so I can review your settings and maybe give some hints. Torsten

I had the same issue with Build 33. After a restart everything went ok for some minutes... I got a solution with shutting down windows index service for the recording HD. And Running defrag
BTW Build 35 is great! I had no problems with memory or saving images.
Great job Torsten!!!
Greetings
Waldemar

Thanks Waldemar; I'll try 35. I did think of defragging; the hard drive seems to work hard at first possibly trying to fill small gaps. -Rolf
