Has anyone successfully made a connection to a laptop and remote controlled their LX90 scope with Stellarium? I would like to try it but not sure where to start.

Check to see if the 504 cable is the right one, assuming that it is, and you have the usb connector, you're set. It's not difficult at all. Hook it up and chances are it will link right up.
Mine works perfect. You may need the right ASCOM files and you should be set. I use AstroPlanner which is the best in my opinion, for navigating and logging. Then use Stellarium and Virtual Moon Altlas. All of them have telescope control.

Yes it works fine. You need a 505 cable Item #: 07505 and a USB to RS-232 (Serial) Adapter #07507 if your PC does not have a serial port. In Stellarium you select LX200 compatible.
