Thanks for the compliments folks, much appreciated.
And Tel, yes this is with a Televue 3X barlow. I see why everyone goes nuts over the Televue stuff, it's a pretty high quality piece.
Just for fun I put the 2X barlow I already had on top of the 3X and ran the Neximage through. I filled up the entire screen with Jupiter, it was pretty cool. I couldn't get it to stay in frame long enough to get enough frames to process, but the visibility was so good last night that you could almost make out cloud movement on the laptop screen when I had the 5X barlow set up working. I am going to try and nail down the alignment so I can keep the 5X barlow shot in frame long enough to get some processing material.
Good times indeed.

Hi Tim,
I suspected the use of a X3 as its size is akin to that I see when I use my Nexstar 8i/X3 Antares Barlow/Philips SPC900NC webcam combination.
It's a great achievement in my eyes, for you to have held "X3" on screen using the standard Alt/Az mount in view of its inherent backlash, which you appear to have tamed to a fine art !
As to "Barlowing" to X5, (f/50), it might be fun to try but two factors will, I feel, be against you.
The first, as you say, drift: although in theory, -- (I've no experience of doing this with a 6SE mount), -- this should be possible to manipulate.
Should the image begin to drift, it should be possible, with careful use of the HC directional buttons, to bring it back on screen. True you will lose a few tens of frames in the process, but such can be discarded by Registax at the alignment/stacking stage. I even employ this technique myself sometimes, even though I'm using a worm driven GEM, so I know it works.
But ultimately I think your greatest problem will be the dimness and hence lack of detail in the image. As far as I know, something in the region of f/40 is about the limit; and that for an 8" SCT !
Best regards, Tim, and keep 'em coming ! Tel

Must have been, Greyhaven! I don't know why my image is half size here, but it shows full size when you click the link I pasted. Strange. I must have been lucky getting the 'spots' before they went around back...

I had a go at resizing your image, Jmel, just to see how much detail you had there.
Plenty ......it seems !

Thanks Tel. I'm not sure why the thumbnail is shown here in the forum, but if you click the picasa link, it shows at 384x396, just slightly smaller than the image you posted. I am just starting to use picasa, and apparently when you link images, it shrinks them. I will see if I can figure it out.

EDIT: Appears that it was beyond the size allowed... Probably because it is PNG and not JPG...

I just received my 8SE this week!! Prior to that, I was using a Nexstar 5. So far, I have only had two clear nights, and first light I had a good opportunity to test the scope out with Jupiter. Night two was some very closeups of the waxing moon HSEstesPhotography . The first shot (11/17/2012) was with the 8SE, the others where taken with the 5. I think the last shot Of Orion, was taken with just the Camera (Canon Rebel 3Ti).

Hi again Henry.
You can insert a picture directly into a post - the links are used when either the picture is too large or the copyright belongs to someone else.
To do this, simply enclose the URL of your picture (stored on the Web) with image tags - as shown here
Which would appear like this:
(this is just an example you understand)
In order to get the full text editor in order to insert a picture or web-link, just click on "Preview Reply" and you then get the relevant UBB Code links.
Hope this helps,
Art

That is a nice image of the Moon. A bit of processing may help bring out some more details.

A great shot of the full the Moon, Henry !
It's clear from your website that you are a talented and well practised photographer so I would not presume to teach but only to say, as Maverick199 observed, the image might take a little more processing ?
For example, and I don't know which processing software you possess, but I think you might agree, this image would benefit from a little "tweaking" via something as simple as free download Registax, a firm favourite, (as you probably know already), with astro-photographers ?
Best regards, Tel

Hi Tim, great pic of Jupiter and its moon. I can never get Jovian moon's for some reason, maybe poor seeing? Anyway, here's my attempt of yesterday night in between clouds. Also took an image of the Moon.
This one of Jupiter is with a DSLR on C6 barlowed, now that Tel gave me that idea of using a diagonal, I find focusing a breeze.
