Stock 2 is a nice, big and bright cluster some 2° north of the Double Cluster. 8 cm refractor @ x16, FOV +/- 2°. Hope you like it!

I do. Never been much on open clusters, but they are attractive. Thanks for sharing this one.

Jef,

Excellent capture. Love the variance in brightness and intensity and size of the stars. It gives it a eyepiece feel. Stock 2 is indeed a fine OC.

Thanks everybody!
In fact the 'legs' aren't part of Stock 2. The left leg (northeast) is even a cluster on his own (ASCC 8).

Jef,

This is a nice cluster in Cas. from my location but I frequently forget to look at it. It been years, I need to have a look soon while it is high in the north. Very fine sketch.

Very nice sketch! It is not easy to diferentiate the subtle changes in brightness.

I agree. I think I sketched the brightess stars to bright. In reality the differences between the brightness of the stars is smaler.

A very tidy sketch Jef and I agree with Uwe that you did a great job showing star size and brightness.

That is such a stunning area of sky to scan through low power instruments. I love the realistic sensation of your wide field view. And like others have said, nice representation of star brightness.

I have a set of Fine Liners for the different brightness. The faintest stars I leave in pencil. Seems to work fine.

I agree with other members, this is a beautiful sketch of this OC.
