This evening I selected the crater Curtius for my sketch. The shadow cast attracted me. I used my 8 cm Apo for that sketch, magnification war 120x. The image is mirror reversed.

Uwe, a beautiful subject, nicely drawn in dramatic lighting. That's nice.

Uwe,
A very fine capture of crater Curtius. Most of us have Moretus catch our eye but this crater next to Moretus is a great sketching target too. Wonderful sketching. I have never sketched this one.

Again a clear night. Clavius stood in the best light but I had not the calmness to sketch such a complicated target. So I sketched Moretus (8 cm Apo at 137x, mirror reversed).

Great sketch. Your drawings have a draughtsman like quality to them, you still manage to successfully blend a dynamic feel into them!

Uwe, I was observing an interesting, well defined crater the other night and though about the lunar sketches you and others post. I just could not understand how you guys attempt them, but I understand the allure they have. To me, lunar sketching takes a special talent.
