Hi A,
Not sure what you mean by The Docters have an M42 and M48 threaded in the eyepiece?
Does it mean that you can by a thread an eyepiece into the T adapter. Is so got a place where I can look this up on the net.
Thanks

BB, no, the oculars have a thread that is normally used to hold the rubber eye cup by a threaded ring. If you remove it, then there is a "universal" M42 and M 48 thread (used by most Zeiss cameras and accessories) visible around the edge of the eyepiece. You can buy a T adapter for your DSLR camera with that thread, I preferred M42 which is the outer one. At this point, when you have attached the camera to the binoculars, the binoculars are still with all its lenses in place, just without the eyecup. In the case of a BT, using a T adapter means a 1 1/4" end and the other end for the camera. If you remove the eyepiece and then insert the camera, then I don't know how it focus since that way the eyepiece is not installed contrary that in the Docters. I'm certainly no expert, here should be lots of people really knowledgeable in digiscoping, I just tried it because I saw Piergiovanni doing it in in his 2010 Binomania review (and later consulted in the Docter web) Go to the manuals on the 12.5mm UWA eyepiece and the binoculars.. http://www.docter-germany.de/en/service/downloads.html

Hi All,
Last night I pulled out my Siebert 8.9mm ep and tried to bring it to focus on my Canon DSLR. Since it did not have a thread at the viewing end I was able to push it into the T mount adapter and view it the results through my camera in Live View mode. Also, I was able to focus on the area that I was looking at.
I will ask Harry Siebert to make me ep with a thread instead of a rubber eye cup so that I can have a tight fit.
Never though I could make this work but we are getting places.
