Below is what will be the central panel in this years master works project of M42 and surrounding area. This is the first time I have been able to capture the dusty "finger" to the left of M42, and also the first time I have been able to see how the dust between the trap and the running man is being lit from underneath by the trap stars. I am planning on getting the surrounding areas to mosiac into one big image, then I'm going to see how it looks on a big mettalic print for framing. M42 and running man 32 exposures, 6min @ ISO 1600 + 12 exposures 30 sec @ ISO 1600 + 12 exposures 15 sec @ ISO 800 for core. Good luck on the metallic print. I've seen them advertised and they look cool in the ads but never have seen one up close and personal. As far as I can tell, you used the 80ED at full focal length...no FF/FR? You sure got nice stars, even in the corners. I don't think my 80ED does that well. Nice work!
