Pages: 1 defrag newbie Reged: 10/31/12 4SE Focus knob fell off!!!       #5535235 - 11/23/12 10:47 AM Edit   Reply   Quote Quick Reply   Well after trying to get focus doing some eyepiece projection, I managed to twist the knob off the focus bar and now it won't stay on naturally this happened at night and the knob rolled under some garden pots and tok ages to find. Needless to say my wife found this very amusing watching me trying to find it. I don't want to glue it on as I may need to take the back off at some point. Anyone else had this? I was hoping it would somehow clip back on the bar, but alas nothing for it to grip on. Anyone had the back off their nexstar and got the focus knob to stay fixed on the bar after refitting???? I'm not familar with this particular Nexstar, but it looks as if the knob's retained by a grub screw which might have gone awry. Which makes sense as there was some travel when turning the knob. Anyway, as per the pictures, the rubber outside covers a metal tube that has the grub screw. In my case the rubber sleve and the metal tube had come away in one piece and once I managed to prise the tube out, refit and tighten up the grub screw all is well with the world, apart from the rubber cover being a bit looser.
