Having followed LPOD and enjoyed the writings of Charles I am looking forward to getting my copy which I ordered yesterday. The 21st Century Atlas of the Moon is not sold out. That "sold out" link posted earlier will be triggered when only a few copies are left. With Mr. Wood's permission: No, we aren't sold out at all. The book will be back from the printer in about a week and will begin shipping - there are plenty of copies! I certainly agree with bsim who commented that the 21st Century Atlas would "make a fine companion" to Alan Chu's new Photographic Moon Atlas. That would be the best of terrestrial imaging and the beginning of the new orbital imaging. Its a good time to be a lunar observer! Just ordered a copy myself. I already have the Cambridge Photographic Moon Atlas, Clementine, and Rukl, but I love Wood's Modern Moon book so I don't think I can go too wrong with this. Yea! my new atlas arrived! ripping open the shipping envelope... but NO! It was another book I'd ordered some time ago and had forgotten about. Yes it's about astronomy (in a sense, and from a brief glimpse I'm pretty happy at what I see) but very esoteric and not the moon atlas I was hoping to see. I actually saw the moon briefly tonight, can still even tell general location! Coming back from holiday shopping. Folks, it's been rough here this year.
