I've noticed that the Celestron C8 uses only a 1.25 dia. eyepiece barrel. Since I'm used to using mostly 2" dia. eyepieces for observing with my larger scopes, what eyepieces might I use with a C8, especially for lowest power observing?

With a 2" diagonal, you can use any 2" eyepiece you want, though the optimal would be eyepieces with field stop of 38mm. Wider than this and the very edge of the field will loose faint stars. But that only matters if it matters to you.

What Eddgie said. A TV 35 Pan has a 38.7MM field stop, yet I doubt you would notice the slight narrowing of the field of view. My speadsheet shows you'll have a tad over a full degree field of view at 58X with this EP.

If you want to stay with 1.25", a 24mm Pan, Es, or Hyperion with a 6.3 reducer will work or just the eyepieces.
