Do you know of any aerial surveys used to find unshielded lights that might be contributing to light domes?
I had an idea to develop a small UAV that could be used to find these unprotected lights. UAVs would be a cheap way for surveying, they are easier to coordinate, easy to mass deploy. I was thinking that a trial could be done in small area with sky quality meters before and after to see if protecting those lights has any noticeable effect on the SQM ratings. If this worked small scale it might be able to work with larger cities and possibly reduce the overall light pollution throughout the country.
This is probably a crazy idea but it just floated through my head.
Is this a good idea, feasible, etc.?

I have been looking into amateur UAV building and thought this would be a good way to merge the two hobbies. I was thinking about a delta wing drone with a good low light camera. It is still running around my head.
