What do you prefer for white light solar viewing with a herschel wedge: a "zoom oculair" or a "fixed oculair"?

Thanks!

The fixed focal lenght ocular will give you better definition, but Baader zoom eyepieces are excellent performers.

Maurits

As for my own taste, if you can get the Televue 3-6mm zoom, this one perform so nicely on the sun. I prefer a zoom for solar observing because depending of the seeing you can go thought different magnification instantly. I do my sun's sketches with this zoom and its a must but very expensive. Its price is $410 CND + taxes !!! FOV is 50 and exit pupil is short what is not the best eyepiece for observers wearing glasses.

I prefer zooms for general use. I had the Baader zoom, which was very good, but it has become jammed in the zoom motion. I have ordered a Meopta 18-9 mm zoom to try out as the Leica is a bit too much for me to consider.
