Gianluca...a great site , thankyou for all your efforts. I find it easy to use and a real time saver when looking up double stars. Also it is nice to have a spot where my measurements can be entered.

I updated the database to the lastest WDS version. Minor bugs where fixed. For example, one did not allowed to show the menus until you refreshed the page.
Minor issues still exists in data visualization, related to graphs. I'll fix them as soon as I can get some free time.
In the meantime, I wrote an article on "Double Star Bulletin" (Il Bollettino delle Stelle Doppie) issue #2, an Italian new online pubblication. If you are interested to how many problems I encountered writing this software and how I solved them, an english version of the article is available, translated by me. What Bruce said!
You've done a fantastic job with that site, Gianluca. I find myself reluctant to switch over to the WDS now unless I need to confirm some data or search for something not otherwise available.
Very, very much appreciated, believe me!
And the Bulletin of Double Stars looks very appealing as well -- I'm working my way through that now.
John
(P.S. -- just sent you a PM, also)

Thank you Bruce and John. I advice you all there is a bug in the "advanced search" page: I tested searching for SAO, it seems to have no effect. Still investigating. When checking the visual filter flag the algorithm did not filtered doubles with magnitudes out of resolution limit of the telescope. This was fixed but not yet in production. I also discovered an unexpected format of the Orbit 6 catalog, confirmed by Dr Mason, USNO. Some data are duplicated for the same double because the are multiple solutions to the orbit. Difference is most cases minimal, it's matter of decimals, but I had to invent a solution to handle this. So it may happen multiple graphs are displayed, and "pa now" and "sep now" refers to the first graph.

No need to download the database. You have the chance to search using my site. It's very simple, give it a try. I just updated the WDS to nov 17, 2012 release.

Many thanks for a great site!
I'm getting a 403 error when I try to go to the registration page. Using Firefox 19.0.2 and IE9.
I've tried the registration links from these two pages:
http://stelledoppie.goaction.it/
http://stelledoppie.goaction.it/index2.php?section=1
Both return the 403

Hi Folks,
It's time to consider the stelledoppie.goaction.it website stable, so I passed it to version 1.0.
Here is a short list of updates and bug fixes.
[new] flamsteed shows number and constellation, not only the number, ie 30 boo vs 30.
[new] news ordered descendant by date
[fix] table fix in orbital elements
[fix] an .htaccess problem prevented new registrations and login/logouts
[new] implemented References and Authors in Notes, a new database file imported by the WDS website
[new] implemented "between" and "not between" to work in searches, using a comma to separate terms
[fix] in neirborhood graph coordinates were inverted left-right. I know there's more work to be done here.
[new] in advanced search, added date first and date last fields
[new] in advanced search, added notes flags field, the one in the main WDS file.
[new] the WDS import script was redesigned to minimize lost records (doubles that changed designation)
[new] constellation (cst) column in lists
I planned to implement a coord to clipboard feature but I realized it's a time-consuming task, so I solved modifying the coord_arcsec_2000 field layout leaving out the grade symbols to permit cut&paste without strange characters to be deal with.
In the next release you'll be able to merge, integrate and do many operations on you personal observation lists. Export to SkySafari too... if they will kindly import the entire WDS in their software!
I know there are many bugs to be fixed.
It's all for now.
Bye,
Gianluca
