Good seeing moon - twice in the same week!
      #5538462 - 11/25/12 10:09 AM

That's a rarety at the end of November in New England. It was a long day at the shop though and so I took out the faster cooling lighter 70mm. I had hoped for Schroeters Valley but it was inked out in black shadow. Still it was a nice view of Aristarchus coming into light with out the fuzzings and flarings typically had with 5/10 seeing. Looking at other moons, jupiters were tack sharp again testament to good seeing which seems to have been Thanksgivings gift for quite a few observers. My moon view of the week however was Hadley Rille resolved cleanly and the myriad craterlets strings all around Copernicus. Tonight's view lacked the drama and the small aperture kept it that way but it was still nice to see a sharp moon.
