It's getting increasingly difficult to find places that process the 120 film. I don't know whether to keep my old 645 for use with this scope or not. Please advise. You still need to find a way to dispose of the chemistry. I closed my color darkroom and got out of film because of the expense and the difficultly of getting rid of the chemistry. [Re: wavefront]       #5542437 - 11/27/12 04:31 PM Edit   Reply   Quote Quick Reply   You can develop your own film, and with a "changing bag" you do not even need a darkroom to unroll the film from the backing paper and load it into the reel(s). Once the lid is on the tank, you can pour the chemicals into and out of the tank without exposing the film. I've developed untold numbers of rolls of 35mm film and some 120-roll film too. I even developed 4"X5" sheet film in trays and open tanks in total darkness. Once the film is through the fixer or the bleach/fix, the tank can be opened because the film is no longer sensitive to light. You then wash the film, and after a final treatment in a wetting agent and or stabilizer solution, you can hang it up to dry in your shower stall or anywhere else where dust will not get to it. Processing film is not hard to learn, but there are some important tricks to remember to get good results. A trip to the library will perpare you for those. Aside from that, a roll of junk film is also needed to learn how to load the reels, which you must learn to do by touch since any light during this step will expose the film. You can order what you need from suppliers such as B&H Photo or Adorama, and any number of other sources listed in photography related magazines. I process 4x5 B&W at home and starting to investigate color process for 4x5 and 35mm. I could not mind getting a 645 but I honestly am longing for a hasselblad. As far as I know Hasselblads have problems with holding film flat during long exposures. I recommend you to start a new thread and ask the people having personal experience with these cameras.
