Frito,
Thanks a great first sketch of Jupiter. I see you recorded the turbulence following the GRS. The hollow of the GRS, the STB belt following the GRS, a festoon base on the NEBs border and the NTB belt along with the north and south polar regions. Not bad for just starting off!!
Good luck with your future observations and sketching of Jupiter.

Excellent first sketch, Frito! As Dean noted you have recorded quite a bit of information. Keep it up. I'm looking forward to more of your observations.

I agree--you did an fine job first time sketching. Glad you went with your impulse. Keep it up--you'll see more and more and get better and better at recording it.

Well done!
My first sketch wasn't much better, but we all have to start somewhere. The more you sketch the better you get, and as an added bonus you'll start observing much more planetary detail. Besides, it's not about art, it's about recording what you observe.

Frito, I agree with everyone above. It's a great sketch, looks like you had a great view of Jupiter. The quality of the sketch is nice, but the viewing is what's important. (Sometimes I forget that, but it always comes back to exactly that.) Sketching does take some practice, but so does observing Jupiter. Hang with them - both.

Frito.
I sincerly think you have some talent in sketching. You have captured lot of details in your nice first sketch. Please continue, I'm sure with time you'll get much better. Now find a better way to scan your sketch to get more light and contrast making your sketch more appealing. Looking for more sketches from you. Congratulation.
Andre.

thanks everyone. i'll likely continue this for a bit esp as the full moon is almost here and that makes looking at most other objects less rewarding
next up a clip board and yeah i can scan them at work but have no scanner at home. i took a photo with my cell of it in the pic above.
