Sharpless 254-8 - AT6RC new

Sharpless 254 (Sh2-254) is the largest nebula on the right side of the image. Sh2-255 is the nebula in the center of the image. Sh2-256 is the smallest nebula in the group of four. Sh2-257 is circular nebula in the center of the group of four. It is also cataloged as IC 2162. Finally, Sh2-258 is the faint nebula to the left of group of four. It is located above a couple stars, still near the center of the image. All of these are located approximately 6,500 light-years away in Orion.

Ha 18x1800s 540 minutes binned 1x1
RGB 8x300s 40 minutes each binned 2x2

660 minutes total exposure 11 hours

Imaged October 28th, 30th and November 14th, 2012 with a SBIG ST-8300M on a 6 Astro-Tech AT6RC at f/9 1368mm.
