Cone Nebula... new
      #5539009 - 11/25/12 03:58 PM

After processing this, I can't find any images on the internet that look even remotely like this one came out.

I kind of like it, and the wife said it looks "sparkly", but thinking i may have really messed it up...

regardless, 51 lights, 180s, 400iso, canon 450d...

Yes, quite interesting! You seem to have gotten a good amount of the blue reflection nebula, but less of the red Ha. Can you try pushing the red a little more possibly?
Here's mine from last week, 3 hours, 45 minutes, 80ED, modded XS.

Based on his signature, it is.

"Camera: Self Modified Canon 450d with Baader IR"

Does seem odd for a modded camera. His imaging time is a little under 2 1/2 hours, should have more red I would think?

The camera is modded. Typically I would have used a cls lp filter, but didn't this time since I'd just finished shooting ngc772 without it, and since it was already 3:00am, I didn't want to take separate flats for the 2 targets...

I guess it really does make a pretty big difference for faint Ha...

Thanks for looking,

Curt
