HI,
My name is Jeff and I live in SW Florida. I have always had a fascination with the night sky. Four years ago I decided to actually purchase a telescope and look deeper into the stars. After some research I bought a used Meade ETX 90 with the Autostar control, it was wonderful to experiance the familar stars with a much so much more detail.
Alas like many people the times got tough and I was forced to sell my telescope, but with time I have been able to bounce back and purchase my next telescope, a Zhumell Z10 Dobsonian and like a little kid can't wait for Christmas to play with my new toy ( telescope).
I have been using my 10 x 50 Binoculars the last few years and though the views are not quite as spectacular I still smile when I find M31.

Jeff! You mean you bought your own Christmas present and you're being made to wait until Christmas to open it?! Wow. Dunno if I could be so patient. I'll bet you have a pic of that scope on your computer's desktop right now.

Greetings from another relative newbie (to this website; been into astronomy since I was 11 in 1976) who also once owned an ETX-90 and an ETX-90EC. Be prepared for a whole new world of viewing with the Z10; your universe is about to get a lot bigger (and brighter)!

I, like you had a scope(Orange tube C8) back in the day but had to sell. I'm now looking to make my next purchase soon.

Provided you haven't already, spend some time learning about collimation and eyepieces for that Dob and you'll closer to off and running come Christmas morning.

Welcome to CN. Bino's are great and I still love my 10x50's especially from a dark site. it my white zone sky the 20x80's do a lot more.
