That looks like a much older version than mine. The plates are also wood. How old is that unit? does the the curtain still work?

I'm a ham too. KE4OQ. I rather enjoyed the puzzle even if I my guess was in the wrong forum. How about another one?

Not me. I like to do casual DXing and RTTY contesting.

I moved North From Georgia to get married. About the camera, I've never seen anything like that. Thanks for sharing it. It would be interesting to see how it's used.

I will put up a copy of the manual. Also, some better pictures of the complete assembly. The shutter assembly is part of the camera. The shutter screen had come loose from the shutter actuater assembly. It is a very simple box. I still need to find the air bulb that fits onto the assembly to actuate the shutter.

I've been a ham since I was 15. I won my high school science fair by building a 10-meter (band) radio telescope and monitoring solar radio noise, plotting it against sunspot counts. A great way to merge the two hobbies.

Many moons ago when I was into moonbounce (EME) on 432 MHz I use to point my antenna array towards the sun, Jupiter, and Cygnus X-1 and note the noise level increase. In fact I often used the "sun noise" to check and calibrate my system.
And to the OP, sorry for hijacking your thread. But I thought it looked like a CW keyer too.

Many of you were hams, I was wondering if any of you were ever coilers? I built my first Tesla Coil when I was in high school beginning with a 15000 volt Franceformer and a 1964 copy of Popular Electronics.

I built my first high voltage transformer coil by mistake. Forgot to leave a gap at the begining and end of the secondary on a toroid. When I powered it up it gave off this blue corona. Really beautiful looking, but we were all afraid to touch it. I am sure sooooonnnnn the moderator is going to remind us what this section is all about

it was about one of these. Here's mine. The film holders are all metal, but the camera back is wood. Thanks to Tim(53) I now have a extra full 3 set of film holders to pass on. The ones in the picture are original to this camera.
