Havent shot this in a while and thought I would see if I could get a different take on it with the same gear.
Pushed my data a bit hard but its really such a cool target , I also shot some Ha to match but couldnt get it to stack in DSS.
19 10min subs with no filter from a semi dark sky at ISO 800 stacked in DSS and then adjusted in PS CS2. Canon 500D(Gary Honis modded) being run by Backyard EOS , Orion Atlas mount and the scope is a Celestron 8" SCT with a .63 focal reducer(FL 1280) and a 7x40mm finderscope as a guide scope.

Nice one, but I think you should be able to get more out of your data. This is my image with 12x5min subs (on ISO1600) with a non-modified nikond7000

Nice signal Erik; processing seems off a bit. Try posting combined FIT if you like.
Here... is mine but I would like to re-do. Thx

Nice to see you at it again Erik, seems a while since you've been able to image. Very nice work on this one, and it's a toughie. You got some real nice inner dust detail, and the colors are great. Too bad the Ha didn't mash. Can you stack that separately and blend in PS?

Looks really nice, Erik - even without the Ha data, you have the Ha regions showing nicely. You also have some nice details in the inner parts of the galaxy.

Thanks very much everyone for the comments.
I dont think the conditions were good for the capture since I was expecting more of this data and in the end had bad vignetting and had to do some weird stuff in processing.
Your guys shots of M33 are excellent and I just cant seem to get the knack of processing this galaxy right for some reason.
DSS doesnt seem to like my Ha data unless I shoot faster then f/6 or I guess I need to go longer.
Havent found another stacking program quite so easy or so free but I do need to do something with the subs I shot.

I agree, looks like the seeing was pretty iffy, the bright stars have a fair bit of bloat and ringing (i always had this with my schmidts..). Your legendary processing has saved the day in my opinion.

Good work Erik. Your color balance looks pretty good, but the background is a bit brighter on work computer than I normally see. Still nice results.
