Well done! You captured one stunning M42. You may try lab color to saturate it a bit but this is only my taste. Otherwise all the details are beautifully exposed and preserved. A wall hanger to me.

Very nice job preserving the core. And, as Jerr said, you still have more room to bring out fainter detail and color if you choose.

The preservation of the detail inside the nebula is excellent. You've definitely got the layering part of it figured out. Like others have said, if it were mine, I'd tweak it a bit with a slight curve to raise the brightness just a bit, and then punch up the saturation a touch. You've got a really, really good image here. The dust and detail between M42 and M43 is excellent.

Thanks all very much for your kind words. I've been slowly working my way up the AP curve and all of you have been a great help along the way.

I think I'll leave this where it's at since it seems that whatever else I've tried to do seems to make it look slightly worse to my eyes. Still a lot to learn I guess.
