I eventually want to purchase a telescope for astrophotography but the budget is tight so I'm probably going to have to adapt and use my 10TE for 1 1/4 inch eyepieces and camera. The end of my telescope, at the focus tube is 34.5mm (or so I have been told). I need a threaded male connector that will screw into the telescope and connect directly to a 1 1/4 inch eye piece. I called a couple of telescope shops but I ended up more confused than ever. I'm not sure what it is called and I don't think many people know much about a Tasco 10TE telescope. Does anyone know what it is called and where I can go to get one? I have another question while I'm asking. If I wanted to buy just a telescope mount that was a Goto (computerized) for the 10TE, what would I look or ask for? I assume most mounts have to be purchased for your particular type telescope. I appreciate any help.

at one time I have seen .965" camera adapters. I still have one. I think I have seen them for sale to this date. Do a search on google or even ebay.

If you google for .965" camera adapter all sorts of places pop up where you can buy one.

I'm not entirely convinced you'll be happy with the results hanging a DSLR off the focuser. You'd be much better off with a webcam or something similarly light - both for the weight and the ability to acquire more "data", i.e. stack frames.

Thank you for the reply. I guess there are a lot of options I can do, but I'm trying to work with what I have. I tried a small digital camera at the eye piece but I couldn't get it to focus right. I am having a hard time finding much available for the .965" size so going to 1 1/4" will be a good start. I have a long way to go before I get this figure out. Your thoughts are appreciated.
