Langrenus (crater) - Moon. Oct 30, 2012
Langrenus is a prominent impact crater located near the eastern lunar limb. The inner wall of Langrenus is wide and irregularly terraced, with an average width of about 20 kilometers. There is a bright, fragmented ray system spread across the mare to the west. The crater floor is covered by many boulders, and is slightly irregular in the northwest half. The central peaks rise about 1 kilometer above the floor, and a peak on the eastern rim ascends to an altitude of 3 km. [Wikipedia]

Neil, pic in the first post is SINGLE frame [Grade A]; no stacking was done since individual frames looked better than stacked one.

Interesting, in all my attempts, stacking has never been as good as a single frame. Might be just for vids of allot of frames to work well.

Thanks Maxx.
Neil, my take is that stacking of video frames will only be good in perfect seeing conditions; atmospheric rippling, in my opinion, produces stacked video images that are worse looking than a good/perfect single video frame. I doubt stacking a lot of video frames of bad seeing conditions will work either. Just my thoughts; will let folks weigh in. Thx

I also find that they dont align the images, their all over the place. I end up cropping them in PS so their centered. Spent many hours and have never seen a good result except the very first time I used a 230mm mov to capture Jupiter.
It is amazing see the undulations that move over the Moon, at low times, would make a nice movie.

True; not the software fault per se, ripples moving across from frame to frame are understandably hard to align.
