Telescope: 13.1” f/6 Dobsonian working at 222X (9mm ocular)
Date: 11-22-2012 01:00-02:45 UT Temperature: 12°C (54°F)
Hazy, slightly breezy
Seeing: Antoniadi III
Lunation 8.1 days
Illumination 64.9%

Don't make me blush, Frank. You deserved the win. That's a spectacular lunar sketch which, quite frankly, gives me the heebie jeebies to just think about sketching.

They're both striking but because Franks is more on line with the actual moon isolated by itself as in the eyepiece he might win. Jason yours is exquisite too and the color is superb but it encompasses the earthly environment. They both excel on true merit. The winning vote if its Frank would define more about what the forum perceives as the moon than any swipe at talent. It's an interesting comparison here. Compelling comparison.

Both striking sketches, no doubt. Both have qualities that make them worthy, only composition differentiates them.

Congrats, Jason, for a photo finish. And to Frank for taking the prize.
