OMG, the most beautiful thing just happened! Ganymede appeared from Jupiter's limb right now! Like Earth rise from coming around the moon! So beautiful! Half the disc showing! Just now, just finished! How sweet, never seen anything like it!
I am thankful to have witnessed it...OMG. That one will stay with me for ever. I mean, I knew Ganymede was coming out from behind Jupiter, but I just did not expect it to be like this.
Of course, sketch coming. In fact, I had just finished a sketch when I looked back and noticed a faint "teet" on Jupiter's north following limb. Then it grew and grew...so sweet! I cranked on the power and just watched it, fighting the urge to post immediately.

Sorry, left off some details...right after 1430 UT. I was looking at about 300x, I think. Just grabbed my 10mm Plossl and jammed it in the Barlow.
Sketch coming, dude! Man, I almost missed it, too...was ready to put my sketch inside. Let GF see it...just happened to peer back at the right moment. Lucky.

Hi Norme,
Congratulations on the observation. It's neat to watch the moons of Jove night after night.
Clear skies,

beautiful sketch Norme!
I've had that view (of the moon coming out from occlusion) a couple of times--always takes my breath away. You rendered it very nicely.

Thank you, Geo, it was my first breath taking view of such a thing. Really got the juices flowing.
