Pretty excited to start using the Mach 1, but the weather forecast tells me I could be waiting a while. Still need to finish the inside of the observatory. The polycarbonate roof is great and makes working in the observatory during the day very enjoyable.

Does indeed look great, enjoy the mount.
One thing on the poly roof. I did the same in my obs and it turned it into a greenhouse in the summer. Fully 10ºC hotter on the inside.

Good day Damien,
I have considered the heat in the summer. If it becomes and issue I am planning on putting up styrofoam boards in between the purlins. They will be held up by friction so that when I want to go in the observatory during the day I can just pull a couple of panels out to let in the light.

Hi Steve, that's a good idea. I ended up lining the inside with plastic sheeting which knocks out the light. I prefer your idea and will look into doing something similar myself.

Hi Steve Congrats! that looks awesome. I hear ya about the weather. I've lived in the NW for more than a decade and this is the worst I've seen so far! Let's hope for clear skies soon

Steve that's a nice combo! Same here guys regarding the weather. I haven't had a completely clear night to image since the Mach 1 arrived. It's been around a 1 1/2 months now. There were a couple of clear nights, unfortunately the timing wasn't right. Oh well, no hurries in astronomy.
