A good idea? Video is always a good idea say we all on the video forum.
I have an SCB-2000 and it did not shine on a 4" Mak under my near urban sky, even with a .5 focal reducer. But that was in comparison to a C5 and CPC925. I sold the Mak and kept the camera. My SCB-2000 spent many happy hours on my C5 with a white light solar filter, or a .5x reducer for brighter DSOs like M42, the Ring and Dumbell and with clusters and doubles. Saturn and Jupiter of course and Venus.
The longer integration of the Lntech camera (x1024 vs x512) might make it a better and slightly cheaper alternative choice.

I think the sky glow over Lake Scugog is a zone or two better than mine, so you should have great views of M42 and I think several other nice targets as well.
Enjoy.
