I did few tests and I found that Standard Deviation in bias frames i about 2,5x higher than my ST-2000XCM (now sold). It was weird since both cams have same chip KAF 2020 etc.. so I searched further. What I finally found is that e-/ADU is changed from oryginal 0.6 value to 0.26. What can I do to switch it back to oryginal ? I dont want to return it to the guy I bought it since everything else is working fine. I tried to contact SBIG about it to no avail so far... I searched whole internet and didnt found any solution. You can also try CCD subforum. For others: a useful info to compare astroimager with others... (Many high-end) astro-imagers tend to be designed/optimized with a factory preset gain (ISO / gain / e-/ADU), post the actual sensor output stage. Many models are factory fixed at a preset value (though still modifiable) not easily modified through menu setting by the end-user. The value chosen tends to be optimized toward the best possible S/N for the optimal image quality, not the highest possible gain (some loosely call it sensitivity.)
