Congrats!! I love my EQ-6, it's a workhorse, and EQMOD makes it so easy to use. If you have a wireless Xbox controller you can run the scope with it too :-)

Yes Pics... I know we have all seen them before, but there is just something about someone breaking out a new mount..

well that was intresting... sorry no pics yet, was busy playing that is one hell of a mount. the pics of it on orions site just doesn't relay the size and weight of this mount!
I set it up in the living room, hooked it all up with GPS module and first light was a NO GO! it powered up but hand controller would not go pass the initialize screen! waited 5 minutes and nothing! So I unhooked the GPS and flipped the switch again and the heavens case down praises of greatness as it came to life! looked up my location on the web and entered into hand set, fake 2 star alignment and it slewed to where I thought those stars were. and then I did a goto to the great seven sisters and it took off running and stopped. so I thought I would poke my head outside to find the location to see if it looked like a close match,,, and what did I see?????CLOUDS

ok just try the GPS again with the handset only, not connected to the mount. its working now this way.. I wonder if theres a power problem of some sort when its hooked up to the mount.

One of the first things that I made for my Atlas was a simple modification to a hand truck to move it. It's a fantastic mount. I love the way that it slews with authority.
Have fun with it.

Nice mount, I had two. It's one of the quietest mounts around. Have you actually tried the GPS outside? It's not going to pick up any sats inside

You do know that you've cursed us all for the next two weeks with solid cloud by buying cool new stuff.
My area still hasn't recovered from me just fiddling with a reducer; I haven't seen a star in 10 days (no exaggeration!)

well I have it half way figured out. after the first failure. I just hooked the power supply to the handset only with the gps connected also and it worked fine!
maybe I didn't have everything plugged good enough when it was connected to the mount. the handset would not go past the initialize screen at all. I'm using the 5 amp power supply so I got enough power. will try again soon!
