Between the Apennines and crater Wallace is a secondary ridge, as if Mare Imbrium has two concentric rims. I have been looking for a name for this on maps and have not found any. Has this ridge been named?

Good question!
The Cambridge Photographic Moon Atlas mentions this on frame 31A, feature #4 (Wallace) as "Southeast of the crater (Wallace) and lying parallel to the foot of Apennines, is an enlongated, nameless mountain range with an interesting structure".

Thanks Rob. I wonder how many of the Lunar features which interest me were never named. Naming the various flow edges in the Maria would permit us to discuss them with each other when sharing comments on our photographs.
This raised ridge would I think make an interesting subject for photography.

In 'The Modern Moon' Charles Wood make the case for Mare Imbrium having three concentric rims. One at the Apennines one at Archemedes and one at Montes Spitzbergen. It looks like the ridge in the link is closer to the Apennines. I can't find a name for it though.

Well, I guess the IAU is responsible for changing the maps, and I suppose we could call it The Planet-Pluto ridge since that name isn't used anymore.

It is un-named on Lunar Aeronautic Chart #41 and the IAU search comes up with nothing for Montes or Dorsa at these coordinates. I'd suggest naming it after Sir Patrick Moore, RIP. He's done so much for astronomy and interest in the Moon (even if he was a volcanic versus impact theory of crater formation sympathizer).
Montes Moore would be a fitting name.

I would prefer to continue the tradition of naming only craters for famed astronomers, and naming mtn ranges on the moon for ranges on Earth of similar appearance.

A little further north in Imbrium, island structures Spitzbergen and Teneriffe are named for Earth islands of a similar appearance. I think this mtn ridge near Wallace crater looks remarkably like the Queen Charlotte islands off the coast of British Columbia. Perhaps Charlotte would be a good name for it.

Since we will never ever get "Montes Python" I say go for "Montes Moore" also. Even though it does sound a bit like canned stew.

Still like Montes Shoemaker, but if we're going with mountain names....Montes Appalachia might be a good one.
