It was quite cold this morning maximum 1°C, but I would like to see the rising of Mercury from my small dedicated terrace.
Bottom-up we can see: Mercury near the chimney, Venus near alpha Libra, Saturn and Spica.
I made the watercolor directly while observing, just adding the planets and stars while my paper was dry.

Superb! This is beautiful on so many levels. My favorite characteristic is how nicely placed the light points are in the frame. Bravo.

Hi Michel.
It's fun to know you real name... I really admire your sketch, therefore, on the next one, just try to make your planets with a more distinct magnitude, that will add much more realism to your nice work.

You find it's cold at 1ºC !!! I did some sun's sketch at -14ºC few days ago. Come on, you can freeze a little bit more.

Voilà... partly corrected...
Yes, here South France, 1°C is too cold. For the locals, North seemed impossible to live...
Anyway I appreciate your message, it give me more "courage" to observe tonight !
Because of the borning light of this famous morning, Spica looks brighter than Mercury and Saturn seemed to have a brigher magnitude than Mercury, this was just a perception linked with the background contrast of the (cold) blue sky !
Today, here, 14°C so, warmly yours
Michel

Oh, that is already much better. Now we can easily identify Venus from the other targets. Looking forward for more landscape sketches from you Michel. You are very good at this. Like I suggested to Jason, a nice moon crescent would be very nice.

Michel,
Your watercolor is beautifully done. I never saw the first draft but the finished work looks very realistic to my eye.
The waning Moon will be in the line up the next two mornings--hope it's not too cold there.
