DGM Optics Nebula filter- VHT or NPB Nebula type

Just wondering what your input/advice would be on these two types of nebula filters by DGM. Evidently the VHT lets through more background stars? I have a 127 refractor and a 11" SCT. Live in a white light pollution zone, but travel to a dark site maybe 1x a month. Thanks

Hi Bob,

I think the hands down first response would have to be the NPB. The dark site views will be excellent with both scopes and I would think at home with the 11" SCT, the NPB would be the better choice.

If you had only the refractor you might consider the VHT, but with the SCT the narrower NPB will give you the better views at home, plus the excellent dark site views. And that`s not to say the refractor wouldn`t benefit from the NPB too, only that the bigger scope will see the most gains.
