Hi Ken. I think the Radio Jove kit is most commonly used by schools and other groups. There probably aren't too many individuals here at CN using them, which is a shame, because I'm interested too.

While I'm somewhat familiar with the radio signals from Jupiter, I'm not familiar with the Radio Jove "Kit". Does anyone know of a place to get more information? Can "real science" be done at the amateur level, or is this just to promote general intrest?

Chuck Higgins at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State) is involved with Radio Jove (http://capone.mtsu.edu/chiggins/).

I have a quad array set up in my back yard, I used two kits and added a larger receiver and oscilloscope. I use it for solar observing and pipe it to a NASA server... never tried it on Jupiter although I guess I should.
