The sun was a little quiet this morning, but there is a nice filament on its way round. Still waiting for a Saturday morning solar explosion!

David.
Nice capture. I had a look at your website. You have bunch of nice captures there. Beautiful images, very crisp and sharp. You caught some very impressive proms. Nice pictures of your scopes too.
As for visual mather, you never tried smaller eyepiece as your 8mm ? 8mm is less magnification (112X) than the defaut lunt zoom (126x) and you obtain only 1/3 of what this scope can deliver. I strongly recommand you the Televue Nagler 3-6mm zoom which give excellent result with this scope. Very clear and sharp image visually with much more details.
Sometimes I would be curious to use CalK visually, does this module is really for imaging and don't let see any details visually ? Could you see the proms with this module ?

Thanks for the comments.
Andre, I have tried smaller focal length eyepieces, but I have tended to use a zoom for convenience, either my Lunt or Baader before it siezed up. I currently have a Meopta zoom on order (8-16mm) which has a nice field of view and I can barlow this with a 2 or 2.5 if necessary, but it might be worth having a look at the Televue zoom as well. My seeing over here in Perth is nowhere near as good as that I had in Oman, and the seeing might be the limiting factor.

Oh I see. It's your choice David. Some people like me love observing at high magnifications other prefer lower magnifications and other taking photos. I think you are more in astrophoto than visual anyway, so with a barlow you have all you need.
Andre.
