Last night it was clear still....again...some more ! I have tried to get this small faint barred spiral before but this time because of the lack of snow here the contrast allowed for more faint wispies to show up. This is a composite of 8 shots of ISO 1600 of 3.5 minutes each at -10 degrees F. The clouds have since rolled in and we are due for snow finally after a month of clear skies - unheard of here in Alaska this time of year. We are looking forward to the snow !

WOW! very good, I see tiny Ha region, a lot of small details! (very good for low quantity of sample)
AHHH!!! a full month on clear sky!!, how much I envy you!, there in east Canada, we have 1-2 ''good'' day of no cloud sky per month... not clear sky! very annoying currently!
What scope did you use? newt or RC? (I see diffraction spike)

I used the 16 inch f4.5 Newt for this one. One really has to have the optics lined up or it is coma city ! This scope is a 1985 Meade DS 16 with a much modified mount and optical tube as in a built in off axis guider and a new drive system.
