Thanks again for the setting circle file Pinbout. I was able to get a couple of prints made just down the street from where I work. The numerals are huge and very visible....I love it.

All salvaged stuff. The tube is from a carbon fiber bow stabilizer that was broken and no longer used. I made the knob on the end from black delrin on my mini-lathe. The aluminum was scrap that I also turned, as well as milling a flat where it attaches to the base with my milling attachment.

"One mod for which I have been searching for a long time is a decal/bumper sticker of the James Bond movie, "GoldenEye" for the side of the scope, ala Mickey Mouse in the above example."

I found my vinyl decals on eBay, pretty cheap, too. I can tell you're younger than me. That's not Mickey Mouse, it's Mighty Mouse. MM was a cartoon super hero similar to Superman. The little guy packed a big punch out of proportion to his size.

For your application where you want to mount the degree circle on the upper rotating base board instead of the ground board, the setting circle has to read counter-clockwise.

here's one in reverse if that works for you.

I went to bestbrandsoftheworld website and they have a goldeneye logo that you can download.

it's a vector format so you could send it to someone that would print and silhouette cut the logo with outdoor inks and the back with adhesive.

I just sent an email to one of my works preferred vendors: color-reflections.com

I asked him about either printing the black background or printing and silhouette cutting the logo, both option with adhesive back and outdoor uv inks.

I'll wait and see his reply.

I think this is going to work. The numbers are large enough that I'll be able to view them comfortably from my standing position. Thanks again Danny for the pdf.

Get the appropriate sized setting circle as a .pdf, copy it onto a flash drive, and take it to Kinko's to be printed on one of their large format printers. For regular paper it should not cost more than a few dollars.

Fedex/Kinkos printed the one for my 10" Dob AND laminated it for $24.

the easiest way to make sure the scale is what you want is for me to mock up a scaled elevation for you.

I made the tube 9.5 dia x 48 with 6in trunnions. just guessing.

but it should be good to make sure its not too big. PM'ing doesn't let me attach the pdf.

That would look great... tube is 9 inch diameter and 46 inches long, Trunions aqre 5 inches diameter.
