Jupiter 11 december 2012
      #5566560 - 12/11/12 08:46 PM

Good conditions this night.
I managed to make 2 captures, one at 7150mm FD28 and the other at 8900mm FD35.

Meade LX200R 10", barlow 2x, Astronomik filters and IDS UEye Ruby camera. No ADC this time.

Processing with Autostakkert then Registax 6, LRGB with Winjupos. The FD28 is a derotation of 4 LRGB captures.

FD28 (7150 mm)

FD35 (8900 mm)

Flava, gorgeous images! So in addition to the RGB runs, you are also taking a run of L? This is very interesting. I may have to try it also tonight. The L channel must be running at a very low gain to maintain equivalent brightness. I really like the results. Thanks for posting

Regards,
Steve

Thank you all

Steve, yes I do LRGB. Actually now after opposition I capture in order RGBL, the colors are better on the limb if the L is shot last. Before opposition was the opposite, L first.
Wtih the L filter there is a lot of light. I can get a quite high fps. I hit more than 100fps sometimes but generally keep it between 70-80fps.
With this IDS UEye camera I always keep the gain at max for planets. It has a low maximum gain, lower than 60% of the ICX618 based cameras I know (Basler for instance). And you get less visible noise than with an ICX618 at half of it's maximum gain. Good stuff.
