I am not sure what other manufactures weights will work on the CG-5. Will a CGEM weight work? I would like to stay away from adding an extension to the existing bar. It has kept me from having to add another weight onto my CG-5s with various scopes mounted. You can purchase a CGEM bar from Celestron on line for $25. Here's my CG-5 with a C8 that is just a tad too heavy for a single 11 lb. CW with the CG-5 bar, but it balances with an 11 lb CW alone with the longer CGEM bar. I got a 3.7 lb perfect match for my stock 11 lb Celestron weight for $12 shipped. Give it a try. For anything under that you can add Tractor Supply 1" washers for about a $1.19 a pound.
