I want to add an orion pier extension on it. Is it metric or imperial and if you have an orion pier extension...what is the thread on its base? Anyone done this before...did a quick look ...did not find it online. Thanks in advance. [Re: DuiA1]       #5573850 - 12/16/12 10:04 AM Edit   Reply   Quote Quick Reply   According to this link the the LX-90 tripod bolt is 1/2" 13 TPI UNC and the SVP extension has a M10 thread, but the pier itself has a round tenon on the bottom meant to go into a SVP/CG-5 or Vixen HAL GP tripod. I recall a vendor who use to make an adapter to mate the two parts, but is no longer in business and not cheap. Then go to the Lowe's astronomy section (plumbing) and look for a 2" female to 4" male DWV pipe adapter. Extention goes into the 2" opening.
