Neck of the Dragon Nebula
      #5582149 - 12/21/12 09:38 AM

I think this complex of nebulae is sometimes called the neck of Dragon nebula (mainly by asian astrophotographers), which speads over the whole Cygnus constellation. This part is situated above from the connecting line of the stars Deneb and Sadr. Takumar 400mm vignettes a lot wide open (f/4). Fortunatelly, lens correction in Photoshop worked well here.

Pentax 6x7, Takumar 400mm, f/4, 41 min, Kodak E200.

Still came out nice Michal. I would try f/5.6 with that lens and try 55 minutes. That combination seems to work well for me. Also - infinity will most probably not be at the lens stop. You will need to experiment for that setting.

Thanks Igor. This shot was intended as a test how the lens works wide open. You are right, it probably isn't focused to infinity at the correspondent stop. The stars look sharper in the corners than in the centre in the both images I have at f/4.
