Hello, I have a 5" astronomy refractor. It weighs about 10kg. I know Giro 3 or Ercole mount can move my refractor very smooth even at high power. Iīve seen Giro-FLM can take 10 kg as maximum charge. Could Giro-FLM carry and move my refractor as easy and smooth as Giro-Ercole mount?

The weight of your scope is at and perhaps beyond the limit of that FLM unit. The Giro Ercole would be a better choice, it is set up for Alt Azi movement versus the FLM, which looks more like a video or photographic mount. With the weight of our scope being what it is you will find using the FLM much more difficult to manouver. The Ercole you can adjust the tension in both directions of movement, but the FLM looks like only one friction setting for all directions of movement.

Tele-Optic wrote me the mount is a classical ballhead mount. For terestrical use the mount will work very well with maximum charge, but for astronomical use were the head will move to the zenith you will have a disequilibrium.
Then my answer has been replied, the best option is Ercole. For a small refractor, like a Tele Vue 85 I donīt know if Giro-FLM works perfectly in astronomical use.

A Giro mini with counterweight bar and small counterweight will handle the TV-85.
