I pick a telescope this summer a Monolux 4352 60 x 700 with wood box. In the box was a piece I think was used with a camera to take photos but I am not sure. No name anyplace but inner ring says Germany 1525. Nose piece will accept a .965 eyepiece barrel. Any ideas what this is?

I have an Exakta eyepiece projection adapter that looks like the front half of your gizmo. The back half must be part of some additional adapter for a specific camera?

Here's mine "in use" with my Exakta VX1000 (was my grandfather's camera). The eyepiece inside the adapter provides the barrel that goes into the focuser, unlike the Japanese eyepiece projection adapters that Meade and other companies sold:

Well I did a little more twisting and found a name Zeiss - Ikon Germany 861/07. I'll take some pic's of the parts and post.

I am not sure if I still have a Zeiss Ikon camera laying around. I will check.

The adapter fits the first version of Zeiss Ikon Contaflex fixed-lens 35mm SLR camera, most often found as part of an auxiliary lens set. On the sides of the Contaflex body lens mount bezel are some vertical grooves this slides into. The other part is most likely a microscope adapter though Zeiss might have made one that was telescope-specific.
