Gosh it's been a while since I last posted - where does the time go? Anyway I also had a crack at Jupiter but even with my 8" SCT I could not get the detail some of you achieve - the "joys" of a suburban site I guess.
I also spotted something unusual while sketching the moon on Christmas Eve :-)

Chris, your detail is not bad, but more importantly you've captured the colors very well. Amazing sight with Santa, too!

You mean Temperate belt not terrestrial belt - jus sayin...
I like your neat organized template you put together, really sets of the nice drawing quite well. Looks like your seeing was soft - kinda like last time I was out- really nice sketch though. I liked your moonshot!

I caught Santa, but was afraid to say anything.

Chris, nice sketch of Jupiter, It looks the way I usually see it (soft -urban skies). It's rare that I get crisp views.

Chris,
Very fine Jupiter sketch and in color, the Moon sketch is very nice too but eggnog and lunar sketching don't go well together, it causes some people to see things. Hope your Christmas was a good one.
