iOptron iEQ45-AZ
In a website in China there appears a new version, the iOptron iEQ45-AZ equatorial mount, able to work also on AltAz mode.
As stated: Maximum loading in EQ mode = 20 kg,
Maximum loading in AltAz mode = 40 kg,
Self weight = 11.4 kg

Wow! Does anyone have a picture from another angle, how does it convert to Eq mode... Its great to see some real innovation in the low to mid price mounts... Meade, Skywatcher and now iOptron. I've held off upgrading my LXD75 for years now, so I am really keen to know of whats coming up. One issue is, however, is the chain of production, supply and distribution. Because ours is such a niche hobby, it always seems to be the case of waiting a long time (months to years) before things hit the market and availability becomes a reality for the common buyer... Fox

Hmmm ... from the looks of it, my guess is that it doesn't convert to equatorial mode. Looks like AZ-only.

Not unless the firmware can accommodate equatorial operation. My Chinese is a bit rusty and can't seem to read the symbols.  To the OP - do you have any information as to whether this mount can be operated in equatorial mode by putting it on a wedge?

If it uses the same handbox as their other mounts, then there is an option to convert to EQ mode with a wedge.
