I don't think I've ever seen an equatorially mounted finderscope! Wow, what a bargain, especially since he so helpfully includes a copy of the original $75 ad!

Unitron 6x50

I don't know if this ad belongs in this thread. It's rather rare and appears to be in good condition. I don't think $500+ is outrageous.

I didn't know that an ETX is a refelcting telescope nor that a pawn shop could take such outstanding planetary images with it!

First I asked the person if they knew astrology from astronomy. Second I said on a good day you might get $75-$100. If it had the scope in it maybe $150-$200 at best. Here's the reply:

"Hi,Mike it is a vintage with wooden legs, so I let the market decide. I am not an expert at all. Thanks.

Seems like they are content to wallow in ignorance too! Mike

Gotta love the out of focus mirror image: "with adjustable tripod" is as much as I can make out. Ads should challenge the detective skills of potential buyers. No sense in boring them with easy to read details.

Man, those things are entirely plastic. I wouldn't be surprised if the lens is plastic (but I don't know). I've seen them marked at $15 in the department stores. I wouldn't pay that, even.

Funny also how they named it H.A.R.A. telescope. That stands for "Hour Angle Right Ascension".
