I see that this mount is made by ES and there is an 8" extension tube. Just curious if there is any that are much longer - like 16"?

What other mounts can support a very long extension tube?

I am wondering if the 16" Orion SVP mount extension would fit. It works on a lot of different mounts. Maybe give them a call.

I have not called. A few of my friends who are quite knowledgeable with mounts said no.

But I will go ahead and give them a call soon.

Chatted with the folks at Orion ... no extension tubes made for the VGIII that they are aware of and SVP version will not work.
